Common Sense Parenting
The Common Sense Parenting (CSP) Module is produced by the Boys Town organization of Nebraska, USA and has been adapted by a local certified professional for Caribbean parents in general and those of Trinidad and Tobago in particular. It is designed to provide parents and teachers with a menu of proven, practical techniques that will aid them in building good relationships, preventing and correcting misbehavior, using consequences to modify behaviour, teaching self-control and staying calm. The programme was the winner of the 2006 National Parenting Center's Seal of Approval in the United States of America.
The CSP Module consists of six two-hour group sessions led by a parent trainer. Participants are taught skills that help them encourage children’s positive behaviors, discourage negative behaviors, and teach alternatives to problem behaviors.
